When you become aware of the edge of your physical existence
walking across the floor seems useless.

When everything beyond you is empty of echoes
alphabets and numerology become fuzzy.

When your shape is defined by your movement through space
you wonder about fitness workout machines.

When quarks and galaxies deign to notice you
the morning mirror tells the truth.

This is an old story, end over end.
even with a telescope’s glint
nothing can be resolved.
