but it’s a cheater origami, 

preferring scissors over 

mastery of the fold.

Bedtime Story

These words fold into those words. 

Constellations rise and fall into the trees. 

Yet another useless map unfolds on the ceiling 

and refolds itself neatly into my elbow 

and purrs as I device a new mnemonic

for the titles of stories I am writing now

but will never remember in the morning.
