Travel Itinerary: Wisconsin Summer


The body of Door County is an “i,” lowercase. 

Not set in italics like Death’s Door


portending demise, pretending to be 

something more than this simple passage 


between a peninsula and an island, 

implying that once its door is closed 


it’s closed for good, forever. 

Its rule is strict, but doesn’t take 


into account the people, places, and things 

on the other side, and the rules that they 


are following when they follow me 

following my map.
